The Irondale Knights season opener at Spring Lake Park this Thursday will be one of four games to be webcast on foxsportsnorth.com on the debut of the Prep Zone on September 2nd at 7:00 p.m.  Go Knights!!!!

Fertilizer sales is one of the Knight's primary fund raising events and this year there were extra incentitives for the players to sell-sell-sell.  Overall the Team did very well with the fertilizer sales with the top three class sales leaders listed below: 

The top salesman of the year goes to Derek Weinmann.  Congratulations to Derek and the rest of the Team!

Parents, Kick-Off Night begins Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m. on the Field.  Pizza, beverages and chips will be available at the concession stand at a nominal cost.  A checklist for the evening's activities is available by clicking here.  Fall will be in the air as we begin the 2010 Season!

The website is up and available for football players and their parents to purchase Knights apparel.  This is an optional purchase and football players do not need to buy the items.  The website will be up and running until midnight on Aug. 11th.  All of the ordering can be done through this website and will be delivered right to Irondale.  If you have questions about sizes for the Under Armour, Lynn Ruff will be at Irondale during weight training on 8/9 and 8/10 with samples of the sizes.

Starting in early August all football players will be asked to sell the Irondale Football Gold Card- This is the biggest fundraiser of the year for the football team and we are counting on everyone to pitch in and sell, sell, sell!!!  As a team our goal will be to sell 2400 cards!! 

What is it?  The Gold card offers discounts at local businesses. Just show your card when making a qualifying purchase at the business and cardholders will receive the discount stated- Card sells for $15.  Some new businesses added to the card this year are Moe’s, Papa Murphy’s, and popular favorites are gas stations, Plaza Cleaners, and other food and service businesses within the community.

When?  Card sales begin in early August with a “BLITZ” night event the evening of August 18^th.

Who?  All players will be asked to sell as many cards as they can to friends, neighbors and family members.  Players will go out into the community on the evening of August 18^th to sell the cards, but cards will be available to pickup and sell starting during weight training/ironman weeks in early August.  Parents will be needed as volunteers for the BLITZ night event to serve as drivers.  To volunteer to drive please email Pam Starr at bgstarr@comcast.net.  Drivers will need to be available from 5:30-9 p.m. on August 18^th.
